Rainbow Team

Our president and ministry co-founder, Keith Brown, served for many years in Christian education working with middle and high school age children.  Over the years he saw several of his students come out of the closet after graduation and then depart from God and the local church.  This broke his heart because he knew the Lord still loved and cared for these young people and he knew they still needed Jesus.  He stayed connected with many of these students primarily through social media.  Keith has spent many hours loving and sharing with those who are part of the LGBTQ+ community and has done quite a bit of pastoral counselling.  He wants to help families that are adjusting with the revelation of their family members “coming out.”

What’s more, Keith knows LGBTQ+ Christians feel as though they don’t belong with other believers or whats even worse…that they are not loved by God. This is especially true of those raised in the traditional conservative church.  Many have been verbally attacked, disowned by family and friends, or even physically abused.  Our ministry team wants to hug, love, and help them assimilate into a local body of Christ.

We believe that no matter what one’s view is on this issue…LOVE trumps all.

So, with all this in mind, our ministry goals with this team are mainly three: 1) share the loving grace of Christ and his offer of salvation to any who do not yet believe, 2) comfort, encourage, and educate any individuals and/or families in distress as a result of this life-changing revelation, and 3) connect individuals and/or families with affirming believers who will care and love them.

Having spent our entire lives in the conservative, Evangelical church, and being fairly conservative ourselves on most issues, we understand that many in the traditional church will disprove or even ridicule us for this team work.  But, as we look at the life and work of our Lord, we must ask ourselves: “What would Jesus do?”  We believe that is what we are trying to do through this team ministry.  We also understand that not all who support this ministry in most ways will agree with this particular work but we hope that difference will not prevent them from believing in our ministry in general.  Either way, we must do what we feel is the will and desire of God and trust Him with the results and provision.

If you are a LGBTQ+ person or family member who is struggling…we invite you to contact us and see if we can help.  We are here for you.

Fr. Keith is also available to share the Sacraments with you.  Please contact us if you are in need.
